Complete Darshan Guide to Ram Mandir, Ayodhya

Ayodhya — the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram — has witnessed a magnificent spiritual revival with the consecration of the grand Ram Mandir. Every year, millions of devotees undertake this sacred journey to seek the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram. If you are planning your pilgrimage, this guide will help you prepare well.

Darshan Timings

Ram Mandir is open for darshan every day of the year. The general darshan timings are:

  • Morning Aarti & Darshan: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Break: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
  • Evening Darshan: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Sandhya Aarti: 7:00 PM (highly recommended)

On special occasions such as Ram Navami, Diwali, and Vivah Panchami, the temple may remain open for extended hours. Timings can change — always verify through official sources before your visit.

Best Time to Visit

The most comfortable season for Ayodhya darshan is October to March, when the weather is pleasant. The monsoon months (July–September) see fewer crowds but can be humid.

For a relatively peaceful darshan experience, early morning on weekdays is the ideal time. Festival dates such as Ram Navami draw extraordinary crowds — plan your accommodation well in advance.

What to Carry for Darshan

  • A valid government photo ID (mandatory at security)
  • Light, comfortable footwear that is easy to remove
  • Simple, traditional clothing — avoid shorts or sleeveless attire
  • Small items for prasad or offerings as permitted
  • Sufficient water and light snacks for waiting in queue
  • No mobile phones or electronic devices are permitted inside the main sanctum
